Delete your Believers Notes account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, without asking us. This page explains how, and exactly what goes with it.
First, if you are the only admin of a church workspace
Deletion is refused while you are the last admin of a church. That is deliberate: removing you would leave that church with nobody able to administer it. Make another member an admin first, then come back and delete your account. If you are the only person in your workspace and nobody else needs it, email us and we will remove the whole workspace along with you.
Deleting from inside the app
- 1. Sign in and open Account.
- 2. Scroll to Delete account.
- 3. Enter your password, type DELETE PROFILE, then type YES.
- 4. Confirm. Deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone.
All three are required. We ask for the password because the account is deleted immediately, and a phone left unlocked on a pew should not be enough on its own.
If you have already uninstalled
You do not need to reinstall. Email support@believersnotes.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will verify the account is yours before doing anything, and confirm by email once it is done. Allow up to 30 days, though it is normally the same working day.
What is deleted
- Your account, your sign-in details and every active session.
- Your sermon notes, recordings and saved summaries.
- Your member profile, including your profile photo, which is removed from file storage rather than merely unlinked.
- Your church memberships and the details attached to them, your notifications, and the device registrations used for push.
What stays
- Anything you shared with your church that now belongs to the church rather than to you — a sermon published to the congregation stays with the congregation.
- Records we are required to keep, such as payment and invoice history for a subscription. Those are financial records, and deleting your account does not erase them.
Deleting a Believers Notes account does not delete a separate ShommyX Church, Believers Dating or Believers Games account.
Deleting some of your data without deleting your account
You do not have to close your Believers Notes account to get rid of something you would rather not keep. Any note or recording can go on its own.
- 1. Open Sermons and find the note.
- 2. Delete it. It moves to Trash, where it stays for 7 days and can be restored.
- 3. To remove it straight away, open the Trash tab, open the note and choose Delete forever.
Either way the note, its recording and its AI summary are erased and cannot be recovered — immediately if you delete it forever, otherwise automatically once the 7 days are up. A sermon you published to your church stays with the church; removing your own copy does not withdraw it from the congregation, so use Unpublish for that. If you have already uninstalled, email support@believersnotes.com from the address on the account and say what you want removed.
Cancel a subscription instead
If you only want to stop paying, you do not have to delete anything. Cancel from the Usage tab and your workspace returns to the free plan at the end of the period you have already paid for — your notes and recordings are kept.
